I played some stuff off SI today, which I hadn't listened to a while, through massively bassy speakers instead of my usual headphones.

I was, of course, blown away.

Especially loving Superstar, Jekyll & Hyde and as always Just Watch Me.

It's funny that you say this. I recently bought high-end headphones and give Static Impulse another spin. It sounded awesome! This album is getting better and better with every listen.
When I bought SI I was working in Germany and only had my laptop and mp3-player in my hotel room. So I ripped the CD (at 320) and listened to it through my good (but not excellent) headphones. I loved the album but...

Recently I got another job and I find myself home more often. It was not till yesterday I took the time to hook up my normal amplifier and cd-player and gave it a spin listening to the album through normal speakers.
At first I thought it was a bit weak but then I remembered to turn on the subwoofer - WOOW. As I said before, I already loved the album, but listening to it with normal speakers blew my mind away. James voice is so beautiful, the music is great and I even can hear the growls so much better.

I am almost sad I will be spending the weekend at my girlfriends place, have to wait till Sunday to listen to James again in such good quality. Only thing better would be James himself singing in my room (keeping my fingers crossed for that wish).
