Aside from most to all DT side projects and relations:
Megadeth John 5 Symphony X Devin Townsend Strapping Young Lad Primus Pantera
There are a lot that I'm forgetting, but those are the big ones off the top of my head.

When I first became a DT fan, I listened to virtually nothing else for the first couple of years. After all, there are so many albums to enjoy!

Being myself prone to listening to music 'religiously', as you put it, I need to take a breather even from my favorite music so it doesn't seem stale and boring to me. You can't imagine how fresh and exciting it sounds after a couple of month's break. I did that a couple of months before I saw their show, and now I'm in the phase of 'DT abstinence' again - must have been for 5-6 months now or so. It can be good sometimes. Speaking for myself now, of course

Here I am, my favourite bands are: Dream Theater, Angra, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Slipknot, System of a Down, James LaBrie solo albums also Mulmuzzler albums... Korn, Nevermore, (I listened to the last album,it's grate ),Rammstein. And... Some italian singers, it's not metal but it's rock-pop music, and I like it: Claudio Baglioni (listen to his voice and hear how he goes in higher notes , you can find him on youtube easily). Biagio Antonacci, Laura Pausini( a little).

Au contraire! I enjoy hearing the reasons behind people's tastes, and sharing my own. We need more actual discussion in this thread. I'll start by kicking myself for the incompleteness of my list - it pretty much only features the prog metal and djent bands! I should have put Nightwish, Therion and Epica as well at least, as well as some non-metal acts; my favourite pieces of music, and those that actually got me into music, are film scores (which is why a lot of the metal I listen to is really grandiose and theatrical), and my music taste has recently started to incorporate more trance, chillout, and melodic hardcore punk, as well as the progressive rock and guitar instrumental stuff I've always enjoyed. So here's another list: DON DAVIS (greatest composer of all time!) Hans Zimmer Danny Elfman Nightwish Therion Epica Helios Indigo 7 Skyway Morphonix Andy Blueman PPK Rise Against Fightstar The Swellers Yes Pink Floyd ELP Coheed And Cambria Joe Satriani Steve Vai Marc Rizzo Marco Sfogli ( )
