I wish it was free here...

I had insurance.... until they dropped me...

To keep any insurance, I have to call them EVERY 3 months to tell them how many credits I am taking to even get ANY ounce of insurance... which i never have time to do.

Hi all, here me, the mute. Smiley

My Monday night was terrible. I stayed mute, but in the evening I was coughing for 1-2 hours and my throat was aching the whole night like hell. So yesterday I went to the laryngology.

A kind woman looked deep into my throat and said I had some severe laryngotracheitis. She was surprised why my GP didn't give me antibiotics, so she gave me tablets for a week.
She told me I would get my speaking voice back in a few days. Well, not yet... But I'm not forcing it any way. She said I'll be close to develop nodules if I start forcing speaking or singing.
She also said a strange thing: if I started trying to speak now I could learn producing voice in a different way using some false vocal chords which would be hard to forget afterwards and I'd have a week hoarse voice for my life so shut up. Smiley

Leo, your symptoms are so true for me. I didn't have the cold or a flu, I just had a sore throat which I did take care of before the gig. Since then I have a runny nose and little fever in the evenings.
Wish I knew it before... But now I learn it, thank you very much.

Today I tried how my throat would answer if I listened to music. Well, after 4 song pain comes. Sad Too bad...

Sheesh Undecided I hope the antibiotics help! I'm glad someone took an honest look at you, too.

I cant understand why your throat hurts when you listen to music? Becouse of the sound waves? Maybe the muscles tense up in exitement?

Try intrumental music, try PLANET X!! Littlerary the sickest band in the UNIVERSE lol...if you hear them you'll know what I mean. Its alien music.

Both. Instrumental music also. But I'm getting over it. Some days and I'll speak again. Smiley

You might try it if you want. You can go to a concert and listen to it in silence. You will feel like if you've been singing afterwards. This is why singers are hiding away at festivals. If they had to listen to all the bands before them at full volume they'd be hoarse by the end of their gig.

Saw a vid on YouTube when he did that..it was during some intrumental medley they did in 2002....suddenly he came in on an electric kickboard! Thats funny.

Someone complained on a forum if I remember right, that when he saw them in 2002, James accidently hitted Petrucci with the kickboard cousing him to play wrong! James can confirm it if its true or not!

Who cares if it messed up JP or not... it was funny to see James going across the stage...

Still not as good as his spinning and taking off on the stage... but still just as good.

Yeah James killer moves!

Did you see that commentary track on youtube, Live In Japan 1993, and James sees himself spinning around like a football, and he goes like "Wait!! Whats that? Whats wrong with me?!"

That was indeed priceless.

One thing James used to do, was those "Matrix"-like moves he used to do - quickly doing some fast strange things with hea arms and then strand still in some drugged pose. That looks cool, he acts this way several times in LSFNY. In "Strange Deja Vu", before he starts to sing.
