Petrucci is getting that fat and not so strong anymore!  Grin

HuhHuhHuhHuhHuhHuh  I think if you saw him in person you would take that remark back.....

Who in the band do you think is closest to James?

Depends on where he is standing on the stage at any given time.......;-)))

Jacob I agree with Subu on this one... I may have not seen them live, but I still think JP could kick your ass (or anyone's for that matter)

Yeah, I wouldn't know what to answer... obviously MP / JP / JM is the core of the band, they're friends since school so they are very close to each other... and Jordan came along "only" 10 years ago... he's probably friends with everybody and "soulmate" (not in that sense, d'uh  Wink) to none in particular I'd guess...

Mike Portnoy recalling their first impression about James: Pulled out his picture and he had the look we were looking for. "Wow, this guy's really good-looking too, man." You know, he had a great voice and he looked good.. "He must be an asshole."

DT's MIAMI SHOW

Finally got home at 5AM, by the time the show ended, about midnight, to trying to get out of the freaking parking garage!!! Angry

Miami is a 4 hour drive from my house, that's OK, really nice to have I-95 to myself for most of the trip home.

Anyhoo, missed the 1st 2 bands, caught ZPZ. I saw them last year, my sister talked me into going, and although I've never been a FZ fan, their shows are still rather entertaining. From a female's point of view, too I've always thought Dweezil to be very easy on the eyes.

DT's show -

For those who don't go on DTF.org. PN09, or any of the other DT-related websites, the setlist

ANTR
AROP
Hollow Years
Erotomania
Voices

TCOT

Encore
Metropolis

From where I stood, which was right in front of JM, James's vocals were SPOT ON, especially during Voices.

ANTR kicked, too really got the crowd going. So did Erotomania.

There was also a short JR solo, only a few minutes, but I don't really remember where exactly in the show it was. Sorry to JR!!

Heading to the Orlando show tonight, thank goodness its only an hours drive!!

I once heard a description of Dream Theater's music as putting Rush, Pink Floyd, & Metallica in a microwave and turning it on high.

That's pretty accurate, in my opinion.

Holy CRAP, if they do TCOT in Toronto, I will simply PEE MY PANTS!  Definitely the #1 song in our household these days.
Encouraging, and brought out the fangirl in me bigtime:  Last weekend I was in one of the GTA (greater Toronto area) music store's called Cosmo's Music (My husband needed some new strings), and among the din, I hear someone playing the beginning of TCOT.  Mama was smiling!

Thanks guys for your responses!!

The Orlando show:

First of all, even though this is James' board, can I mention for a minute how much I love MP. Well, not "love", but more of an admiration, for what he(and the other 4), do for us fans, but especially him, because I know he's the one who does the setlists. He knows that fans go to multiple shows, and come back tour after tour, so he mixes it up, so we aren't hearing the same thing. Some fans on DTF.org are commenting on the weird setlist last night, but I LOVED it!!

ANTR(I love, love, love this song and hearing it live makes me love it even more)
Prophets of War
Sacrificed Sons
Misunderstood(this was strange they did this because I remembered they did this last year in Orl., but didn't care, LOVE this song, too!)
AROP
The Dance of Eternity
Take the Time

Encore:
TCOT

Oh yeah, and after the show, when the house music started playing I could've sworn I heard Thriller. As we were slowly making our way out, I also could hear AROP, and I noticed it was a mixture of the 2 songs.. It sounded cool and I had never heard this before. Does anybody know about this recording?

A nice tribute to MJ's music from the band.

I will have photos eventually, my digital hasn't been working well, so I've had to use my "old-fashioned" camera. Angry
