I read that a certain amount of all songs they play on all Canadian radio stations MUST be be bands/artists/writers of Canadian origin.A friend of mine,from Novascotia,(he's lived here over 10 years) told me it's something like 60%.

I don't know the exact ratio and I know it's more complex than a simple percentage (it is split in Music Credits, Lyric Credits, Performance Credits and Production Credits if I remember correctly), but yes it is true.
