Hi everyone,

I havent been here online in a while and I havent posted in quite a few years. So I decided to bring you up to speed on my situation. After my ex left me in 2014 I started struggling with an alcohol and drug addiction and I started dealing drugs to support my habit and did many bad things that I regret now doing. My divorce was finalized in January 2016. Around late  2016 I had a wake up call, I started realizing whats happening around me in the world and how were being manipulated and ruled  by evil forces, higher powers.  I started seeing the big picture after studying the matters for 2 years when I was struggling still and I started  asking the big questions, searching for more. I started reading the Bible and realized the TRUTH. Prophecy is being fullfilled and we' re seeing the end times, were living in the End times, dark times. GOD was reavealing things to me and I found faith. It was something that was truly missing in my life. It filled the void. It was the one thing I was searching for all of my life.I got on my knees and I repented for all my mistakes and sins and I got born again. Soon after CHRIST delivered me from my addictions. GOD blessed me with so many Opportunities. I decided to change my life all around and live it for CHRIST. 2017 Ive met the woman of my life the one that CHRIST SENT me after praying on it for so long and after being through so much emotional pain, truly dark times, after trying to commit suicide too at a point and going cold turkey. We have been together for over a year now. Shes also a born again Christian with a very similar story. Now were planning on having a family and getting married in a few months. Hoping we will have a family soon that we will raise up for the LORD.  I also have been Sober for 4 years and clean  for 3 years. I quit my job and I started living my life for JESUS. Im doing fine and have never been better and its all cause of CHRIST. GOD is amazing and HE truly changes peoples lives. JESUS saves. If you havent been born again or youre down or see no way out or youre in a dark place I encourage you to get down on your knees and Repent. JESUS CHRIST can make you whole and HE will if you humble yourself and call on HIS name. He can take away all the pain and misery and give you a new heart a heart of flesh and take away that stony heart and give you peace of mind. He can bless you with Hope and a new life and make you a new creature. Call on the name of JESUS Christ TODAY and be born again by the blood of the Lamb. He died for the sins of mankind on an old rugged cross so you and me we can have eternal life. He was born by a virgin, lived a perfect sinless life, he died on a cross and rose again on the 3rd day. Thats the Gospel of JESUS Christ. Believe it in your heart and youll be saved. I hope and pray you will get saved today. CALL ON THE NAME OF JESUS TODAY and become a new creature in Christ.

GOD bless y'all!

Acts 3:19 (KJV)
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Romans 10:9-13 (KJV)
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 (KJV)
17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
21 For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

I know I haven't been here a lot lately. I had tons of private problems. After a beautiful 8 and a half year relationship and 5 years of marriage 3 months ago my wife left me. We separated not on the best terms. So I have been lately depressed, had to cancel work and couldn't sleep for a long time but I'm getting better now. So I'm a little bit more ok every day. Just wanted to share it with you guys here since this is the longest forum I'm on and have some very good friends and aquaitances here.

Well I have to say I always stood on Mike Portnoy's side. He is Dream Theater to me and no drummer can replace him.

And where is you're argument for that? When I listen to Images & Words or any other album, I can hear amazing vocals and amazing musical skills by every member. With one original member gone, Dream Theater is still an amazing band, and they proved that on the last world tour.

Quote
After listening to it sure there are nice moments and LaBrie's singing is fantastic as usual but Portnoy is missing and I will never accept Mangini as a Dream Theater member.

It does not matter if you accept Mike Mangini as a member. Dream Theater not only accepted him, they chose him to become their drummer. And as all the members in Dream Theater are happy with their choice, I am, too!

Quote
I think he's not just a member he took Portnoy's place and that's the most important one.

The signature of every band is the voice, and I am glad James LaBrie is still their singer.

As much as I love this band and I have been listening to them for 14 years (99- SFAM) and as much as I respect Petrucci and Myung. To me Portnoy is the "Father" of this band.

It was John und John who met first. Portnoy may have thought that he is the father of the family, but as a matter of fact, he acted like a band dictator. And when he wanted to go on hiatus, he thought that the other members were dependent to him, but actually they were not and moved on. Seeing John Myung smiling again is the best proof that Portnoy leaving Dream Theater was the best that could ever happen to the band.

The album is more prog than metal to me and that's what I like their still making good music but  when I have in mind that somebody else is behing that drum kit in this band I can't believe it.

Sorry, but you sound like a little 15 year old fanboy here.

Excuse me Stephan but who are you to criticize me like that and write such crap. I'm sorry Donna But I won't tolerate anybody talking to me like that. Stephan somebody should teach you some manners. Dream  Theater hasn't done a proper album since Octavarium which was their masterpiece. Everything that came later was "ok"! Now this is a community forum where people come to tell their opinions and as you should know opinions are different and everybody has the right to it's own opinion. To me Dream Theater is dead as a band. Last time I've seen them in 2010 with Portnoy and it was for the 7th time in a row phenomenal. As much as good Mangini is he doesn't fit in the band. Again my opinion. I didn't hurt anybody's feelings  here. I come here because I still love their music everything up to Octavarium and because I'm a big LaBrie fan. You're the fanboy here because you're taking It personal. Now I didn't mention anybody's name here I just wrote my opinion like  everybody else.  Sorry Stephan don't take this as a threat but if you "attack" me once more like that I will report you to Donna or some of the moderators!!!!!!

I've seen DT a total of 7 times. The first time was in 2005 on the Octavarium tour and nothing. After that I've seen them here in Croatia when Dominici was opening for them. None of the guys came out. Charlie did. We talked for about 30 minutes and took a pic together. Then I saw them 4 times in a row in Germany on the Systematic chaos tour in 2007. On every concert I was in the first row of course and sang every song as loud a I could with my high tenor voice together with James. After the 3rd show he recognized me and in the mid of the show he gave me an angry Wtf look but I carried on. After the shows I got eventually my stuff signed but again no pics. In 2007 my wife and I met and did the Camino de Santiago together in Spain and stopped on my Birthday in Bilbao for a week and went to see DT with Symphony X. I was so exited. I always wanted to see and meet Symphony X. So after the great show we went to the busses. My wife went to the DT bus and I went to the Symphony X bus. She started talking to the DT bus driver he told her that the guys are tired and some are ill and wont't come out . She tried to convince him as he is British too so they got into a conversation. My wife told him that Jordan and I are sharing birthdays and that I simply would like him to come out to take a pic, sign some of my stuff and congratulate him and that's it. She almost convinced him to ask some of the guys out. It was very cold and there was no one except my wife and I and 2 friends. I was unaaware that my wife was still convincing them, so I kinda gave up. I've seen the guys from Symphony X coming out of the arena and ran to my wife all exited not aware that she actually managed to get some of the guys out cos the driver has been so nice. She tried to explain it to me in front of him but I was insisting we said goodbye and went to the other bus. When my wife told me the story later I was so pissed with myself. We went to the other bus and hanged out wih the guys for about an hour then it started raining. About an hour later Russ came out the other guys went into the bus and Russell and Lepond hanged out with us for another two hours in the cold and rain taking pics, signing stuff, joking and laughing. It was my best Birthday ever. After that we've seen DT once more in 2009 on the Black clouds tour with Bigelf and Opeth. Opeth was fantastic. DT was so dissapointing they played less than an hour. No energy, nothing. All of them looked like they even don't wanna be there. It was terrible everbody was dissapointed. That was the last time I've seen them and won't see them unfortunately live anymore unless Portnoy comes back.

Just recently saw Ted and must say it's a hilarious masterpiece. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. Just simply have to love Mark Whalberg. I also saw the Expendables 2 of course. I'm the biggest Sly fan ever and wouldn't have missed that one for nothing. Must say another Masterpiece. The movie is simply great. Have nothing more to say. It's got a lot of action and it's brutal, really really cool. Took me back to the late 80's early 90's when movies like that were at their best. Yep Sly you did it again.Bravo!!!!
