I wish I could be going.  I live in Colorado and thought seriously about either visiting my brother in SD for this show or flying down to see the Mesa, AZ show on Sunday.  The move of my office kept getting delayed by regional building issues and got more and more expensive, so I decided against it.
If the setlist is unbearably fantastic (and different from the first leg), I may just drive to AZ but at this point I'm not seeing any of the 3 shows in CA or AZ.   Cry

I have purchased both of these and have yet to listen to them because I've been so damn busy lately.  Thanks for the reviews!

I seriously doubt Rush will ever break from the "evening with" (no opening band).  Besides, after seeing DT open for Maiden they get stuck with a short set list.
If DT and Rush played together with full set lists, I just couldn't handle it.   I'M NOT WORTHY, I'M NOT WORTHY!

slipping into mild depression about no Colorado dates.  I'd even take New Mexico...I guess I better start looking into airfare to Phoenix.

I have tears in my eyes.  I am so happy for your mother that James gave her a bit of joy.  God bless you and your family as you continue through this difficult journey.
Thoughts and prayers.

I had never heard that and haven't seen that movie since it was released in the theaters.  I'll have to revisit it...of course, then I will start fantasizing about Emma Thompson.   Grin

I have two upcoming concerts:

Opeth with Pain of Salvation as support on the 8th of December and

Dream Theater on the 25th of January

I have only seen Opeth once before, on the Progressive nation tour. I am totally in love with Heritage and am looking very much forward to this.

Pain of Salvation has been a favorite of mine for a long time. I have seen them a couple of times before. As support for Dream Theater and when they set up BE a year before the album was released. The BE concert was one of my favorite concerts ever..... don't think they will be as interesting now. Will be sad to see Fredrik Hallgren for the last time as this is his last tour with the band.

Dream Theater is probably the band I have seen more than any. The first time was on the Images and Words tour. With their fantastic new CD I am more eager than on the last couple of tours.....

I just saw Opeth last night.  Amazing show.  Of course, it didn't hold a candle to DT, but I am very lucky to see two of my favorite bands inside a month.

My next shows are:
11/15  Scale the Summit
12/4  Scale the Summit (on a different tour with other bands)
12/10  Dead Letter Circus & Fair to Midland

I'm going to see the Blue Man Group tonight, but that doesn't count as a concert but it should be a blast.

NEW DATES ADDED

ADTOE NORTH AMERICA:
Fri - Dec 2nd - Anaheim, CA - City National Grove of Anaheim

Arg...it looks like they might not add a CO or NM show.  I would really prefer not to go to AZ (nothing personal, just a 12 hour drive or maybe a cheap airline ticket..hopefully)

Me and another guy at the SLC show were joking about the lead singer for Trivium saying that "I'm sure you can hear the DT influence in our music."  He really said it!  I'm not joking.  WE DIDN"T HEAR IT!!

I watched it last night.  MP was cool and it is nice when an interviewer just lets him tell what happened instead of trying to bait him into answers to stir the pot.  My favorite part was when he said, "I still love those guys."  My least favorite part was when he described the dinner after the final show "without naming names".  If that really happened, that is pretty lame of whoever did it but without knowing all of the facts & circumstances, it's not fair to pass judgment.

Sounds like the are on their way to Mexico in December. I'm still hoping for a Colorado stop, but at this point would settle for New Mexico.

^^  interesting comments from both of you.  Nice to read level-headed analysis instead of knee-jerk reactions and speculation like I have seen elsewhere.

I wonder when this was filmed?  I have it on the DVR, so I will likely watch it sometime this week.
I am still a big MP fan and will give all of his side projects, one-offs, or whatever else a fair chance.
We are a long way away from a DT "reunion" and I just love Mangini.  He IS the perfect guy for the job as DT moves forward.  As I am sure everyone knows who has seen them, everyone is gelling 100% right now and DT is truly magical live.  Can't wait to see them again in December.
