What a relief!  I saw someone else mention the 2014 start date on another forum, so I was beginning to think that this was semi-official.  The only good thing about a delay would be a longer solo tour by James & his band.

This is great news.  If DT doesn't tour until 2014, that leaves the door open for a solo album tour!  Get those Visa's ready!!

Is it confirmed that they won't be touring until 2014?  I was hoping they'd get out on the road this fall.

Saw StS at a headlining show in Colorado Springs on 5/31.  Really good stuff.  I hooked up my 15-year old son with a private lesson with Pat before the show.  He really dug that.
Looking forward to the show with Intronaut in Denver.

How was the Neal Morse/Flower Kings/Transatlantic show?   As if I don't know already!!

Took my son to see Tremonti last week.  Small club, good show.  (Fronted by Mark Tremonti of Creed)

Finally have some concerts lined up:

April 1 - Adrenaline Mob (in my home town of Colorado Springs!!!)
May 6 - Steven Wilson
May 20 - Opeth (with VIP Meet & Greet!!!)
May 21 - Opeth (so excited they are doing two shows in Colorado!)

Trying to work out Stone Sour & Volbeat shows, but they are both in February and I'm a tax accountant so it's not very good timing for me.  I'd find a way to do it for my son, but he's 15 and both of these shows are 16 and older only.  That sucks.   Angry

I did a M&G back at the Salt Lake City show in Sept 2011.  They had us lined up against a wall and the guy in charge of it was saying no hand shakes, etc. for the guys to avoid getting germs while on tour.  So the guys come in and keep their hands to themselves...except for Mangini who was giving high fives all the way down.  We did posed pics (two poses).  Held up the metal horns for the second shot, and James did a crazy face and Jordan gave the horns as well.
The guys then sat at a table and we proceeded through to get a chance to talk and get things signed.  All of the guys were amazingly cool, gracious and very kind.  I got to talk to each of them for 30-60 seconds which was really cool.  I talked with Mangini about the Red Sox and sports, in general.  I told him how great it was to have him in the band and talked a bit more about the Drummer's Dream video that he is in.  I mostly talked to JP about favorite Rush guitar solos (his is Limelight for those keeping score at home).  I told him how much I loved the solo from Breaking All Illusions.  I talked to JR about his apps and told him how much my son loved SketchWiz and MorphWiz.  Next was the Captain.  We chatted about his solo album and I told him how "perfect" his voice sounded on that album and ADTOE.  We talked about the acoustic songs they were doing and I mentioned how much it blew me away when Rush first did that on the Vapor Trails tour back in 2002.  Then we talked a bit more about Rush tours and shows.  Next was JM.  I asked him about a second leg and the new Jelly Jam release.  He said more than a few words, which was cool!
I stayed after the show and all of them spent time along the rope line.  I got individual pictures with each of them and got to chat a bit more.  Mangini practically had to be dragged on the bus as he was really enjoying talking to everyone and gave several hugs to the women!
These guys are the real deal.  All of them seemed like genuinely nice people.  It was a great time.

Nice job.  I listened to it rather quietly while at work.  The singer sounded particularly accurate.

Happy Birthday, James!  You share the same birthday as my dad (who turned 72!).   Grin

Anyone know the time of this setlist?
I'm still hoping to pull a rabbit out of the hat for the summer tour, even though they won't be within 800 miles of me.  Damn.
14  General Category / General Music Chat / DT already writing new material for next release! on: April 25, 2012, 01:56:21 pm
According to a Facebook post by JP, writing for the next DT album officially commenced in Osaka the other day!

Never heard of the opener.  I'll have to check them out prior to seeing them in Denver on this tour.
