1  General Category / General Music Chat / ProgPower USA on: May 08, 2018, 09:13:33 pm
Hey all! Just thought I'd send an update about ProgPower USA this year. James was scheduled to perform and yes, once again had to cancel. I have been DYING for years to see his material live with all those great musicians. Guess this may never happen afterall. Totally bummed beyond belief.

Yeah....would've been a shame if nobody heard these. Really, really enjoying this music so far. Just now listening to the first track. Thank you sir!
3  General Category / General Music Chat / Boston show will have a surprise... on: January 12, 2014, 02:29:30 pm
According to JP, Dream Theater is planning something cool for the Boston show. Hmmm....makes one think. Berklee's finest string players performing with them during Illumination Theory? Just a guess. Any other ideas what might happen that night?
4  General Category / General Music Chat / Re: I HOPE THEY COME TO BRISBANE AUSTRALIA on: November 27, 2013, 04:47:17 pm
They did come to Brisbane in 2009.....did you get a chance to see them then?
5  General Category / General Music Chat / Re: Impermanent Resonance Tour? on: August 30, 2013, 07:57:27 pm
Thanks a lot for posting that. I guess that answers my question then.....Summer of 2015 if we are lucky; that is if the next DT recording doesn't get in the way. Glad I didn't get my hopes up. Now, for the next DT Album!  Grin
6  General Category / General Music Chat / Impermanent Resonance Tour? on: August 28, 2013, 04:35:15 pm
Sorry in advance if this has already been discussed, but does anyone have a clue as to whether or not James and the guys are going to make this happen? Seems there is enough time before the DT tour in January. Man was I so bummed it got cancelled in 2010. I had tix to back to back shows in Los Angeles and Ventura. It was the most excited I had been for a tour in several years. Not gonna get my hopes up too high this time though.

8  General Category / General Music Chat / Re: Dream Theater Grammy Nomination!!! on: December 01, 2011, 01:24:57 pm
As happy as I'm am for DT..this seems a bit strange. I never imagined they would ever be recognized on any level by that institution. Let's just hope that Jethro Tull doesn't get nominated also because they will have NO shot at winning in that case Wink
9  General Category / General Music Chat / Roll Call for San Diego... on: November 27, 2011, 05:57:27 pm
Just curious who in this forum is going to the Balboa to see DT. Never been to downtown San Diego, so I thought I'd book a hotel for the night. Any suggestions on where to go after the show?
10  General Category / General Music Chat / Has anybody seen VANDEN PLAS live? on: September 03, 2011, 06:08:41 pm
Vanden Plas will be appearing on the 15th in Atlanta @ Progpower, and I'm doing everything in my power to resist from going. The cost will be at least 500 bucks for everything... flight from LAX, hotel, transportation, and meals (on the cheap).
Looking for one reason either way to either go or not. If anybody here has seen them live....what was your experience?

The thing that kills me if I don't go is that I don't know when I could ever expect to see them in the states again. I might have take a trip to Germany one summer...
11  General Category / General Music Chat / Re: Ticket For Life? on: August 18, 2011, 03:41:56 pm
OK! Just heard from the horses mouth (actually JP's mouth) on the Roadrunner website. "Any show...anywhere in the world...for life." Maybe I'll have some good Karma and get one. I think I've more than paid my dues...
12  General Category / General Music Chat / Ticket For Life? on: August 17, 2011, 10:30:59 pm
Sorry in advance if this has already been discussed, but I never heard the particulars as to what the "Ticket For Life" actually means. I just ordered the box set, as I could just not resist. Better price this time around....
13  General Category / General Music Chat / Re: Post by Mike on on: December 21, 2010, 07:30:31 pm
Just when you think it couldn't get any worse....
I never thought in a million years that my respect for MP could have changed so drastically this past year. I have no problem saying that he is a complete Douche Bag now.
He probably just cemented his fate permanently with the band. NOW I really doubt there will EVER be a reunion....not even when they are all old and gray. He is so pathetic.
14  General Category / General Music Chat / Re: Appreciated on: November 02, 2010, 05:53:27 pm
Thanks for the info James. I apologize for coming to a unproven conclusion.

I really hope you guys figure out a way to tour in the near future. I imagine that will be pretty though being the DT train will get going again in January. Best of luck man.
15  General Category / General Music Chat / Re: Tour Cancelled on: October 29, 2010, 01:06:28 pm
Alas! Another cancelled tour because of the Visa thingy. This is the 3rd time I've been hexed after buying tickets by a band who didn't have their ducks in a row (Angra and Shadow Gallery were the other two)

I just dont get how that isn't worked out before announcing a tour. I would be curious to know how ticket sales were going (my guess is that sales were poor).

Damn it.

Correction on this post: I meant to say Vanden Plas...NOT Shadow Gallery.
